So it seems [according to *Koholint
] that it is a Viking kind of day and what would be more appropriate than this picture? I am still in complete awe of how everything came together at the last minute to form this group. I had tons of fun cosplaying with my group and I am extremely proud of how all the cosplays fit and looked. Like I mentioned in the previous entry, I made the five outfits in this picture and took care of Denmark’s axe and Sweden’s sword while *Koholint
made the shields, bow, spear, and rest of the weapons.
One of my main goals with these outfits was to make them look as accurate as possible to the fanart that *sudenjoiku
created. I fell in love with the designs and I really wanted to make them justice. I was also hoping for everything to fit correctly since none of the members of the cosplay group [except for Denmark] lives in the area, so I had to get to their measurements and sew at my discretion hoping/praying/stressing myself out of my mind so that everything worked like I intended to. Luckily enough, the designs aren’t tight at all so that lessened the error margin. Some of the materials used for the outfits are: Tergal, suiting fabric, Suede (for the capes, gloves and arm guards), fur, and velvet (for Iceland’s cape).
I am really looking forward to wearing these costumes again! ~tani-chan
and Kiyoshi, thank you guys for making this so much fun! I really had a blast despite us not wearing these costumes that much during the con. We can fix that during AnimeFest ;D.
I hope you guys like them as much as I do. This picture was taken during A-Kon 22 in Dallas, TX at the beginning of June.
